Mrs. Aderemi, Adejoke Deborah is the Head of Nursing at the Federal University of Health Sciences Teaching Hospital (FUHSTHI), Ila-Orangun, Osun State, Nigeria. She is a distinguished nursing professional with over three decades of experience in clinical nursing, midwifery, intensive care, and nursing education. She holds a Bachelor of Nursing Science from the National Open University of Nigeria, Postgraduate Diplomas in Education and HIV/AIDS Education and Management, and the prestigious Fellowship of the West African Post Graduate College of Nurses and Midwives (FWAPCNM) in Maternal and Child Health/Reproductive Health.
Her academic credentials include a First School Leaving Certificate from Shadawanka Primary School, Bauchi (1978); a West African Senior School Certificate from Government Girls Secondary School, Azare, Bauchi State (1983); a Registered Midwife certification from Our Lady of Apostles School of Midwifery, Jos (1986); a Registered Nurse certification from the School of Nursing, Bauchi (1995); Post Basic Intensive Care Nursing certification from the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital (2013); and Critical Care Nursing Training from Korlebu Teaching Hospital, Accra, Ghana (2013). She was inducted as a Fellow of the West African Post Graduate College of Nurses and Midwives in September 2021 at the Palace De Congress, Cotonou, Republic of Benin.
Mrs. Aderemi's professional career commenced at Alheri Medical Centre, Bauchi (1986–1987), followed by service at the Health Management Board, Bauchi (1987–2003). She subsequently joined LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, now UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital, Osogbo, in July 2003, where she served with dedication until September 2025. During this period, she developed a profound passion for intensive care nursing since 2011. Her leadership excellence led to her appointment at the Federal University of Health Sciences, Ila-Orangun, in September 2025, and subsequently as Head of Nursing at the Federal University of Health Sciences Teaching Hospital in December 2025.
Her professional expertise encompasses intensive care nursing, critical care coordination, maternal and child health, reproductive health services, nursing administration and management, clinical instruction and mentorship, infection prevention and control, patient safety and quality improvement, medication administration and monitoring, emergency response and resuscitation, patient and family education, regulatory compliance, and healthcare policy implementation. She actively coordinates nursing services, revenue generation strategies, expenditure tracking, and the preparation of reports for hospital management and regulatory agencies.
She has participated in numerous national and international assignments, including serving as a member of the Osun State Medical Team on Christian Pilgrimage to Israel and Egypt at Saint Catherine, Mount Sinai (November 2011); a member of the Federal Medical Team on Christian Pilgrimage to Israel (2016/2017) and to the Kingdom of Jordan (August 2021) organised by the Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission; a member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God Medical Team during Pastor E.A. Adeboye's "Let's Go a Fishing" Outreach at Ada, Osun State (December 2022); and as a member of ward managers for students on clinical posting, demonstrating her commitment to mentoring and drilling students towards academic excellence in nursing. She has also participated in various professional seminars across Nigeria and internationally in Accra, Ghana, and Cotonou, Republic of Benin.
Her outstanding contributions have been recognised with the Best Nurse Award by the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives, LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Osogbo Unit Branch (2014); the Ambassador of Infection Control Award at the Critical Care Nurses Scientific Conference by the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (October 2022); the Academic Recognition Award by the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives, LAUTECH Teaching Hospital, Osogbo Unit Branch (January 2023); and the Meritorious Award by the Theatre Family of UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital, Osogbo (December 2025).
Born on September 14, 1965, in Bauchi, to the late Pa Joel Adeniran Oginni of Ilee Sokoti, Egbe Edi (Idi Ayan) and late Mama Maria Idowu Adeniran Oginni (Nee Ayeni Arogundade) — Omo Saloro ni Jesa of Ile Oye Igbogi, Igbogi Street, Ilesa — and of the Oginni family whose forefathers hail from Okerewe-Ifewara, Ijesa land, Mrs. Aderemi is a native of Ilesa West Local Government Area, Osun State. She has been married to Pastor Aderemi Adisa Nasiru since April 13, 1996, and their union is blessed with four loving and supportive children who have been instrumental to the completion of her academic, professional, and spiritual pursuits. As an ordained Assistant Pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Osun Province 9, she is very supportive of her husband's ministry and has supported him in reaching the apex of his career in the secular realm.
