Biography

Mr. David Olugbenga Oladele is a dedicated and experienced Nigerian healthcare administrator from Ayedun Ekiti in Ikole LGA. Born on June 24, 1976, his comprehensive career profile is defined by over two decades of progressive leadership at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, where he stands as a cornerstone of administrative excellence.

He began his career at UCH as an Administrative Officer II in the Human Resource Department on September 16, 2003, and advanced systematically through the ranks—serving as Administrative Officer I (2006-2009), Senior Administrative Officer in General Administration (2009-2011), Assistant Chief Administrative Officer (2012-2014), Chief Administrative Officer (2015-2018), and Assistant Director of Administration (2018-2019). He rose to his current executive position as Deputy Director of Administration on January 1, 2019.

Current Role & Responsibilities

Presently serving as the Head of the Hospital Services Department (since January 2024), Mr. Oladele provides critical administrative coverage for the office of the Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC). His key responsibilities include:

• Managing sensitive patient care matters such as payment deferments, waivers, and retainerships.
• Facilitating the accreditation and re-accreditation of all clinical departments and schools with bodies like the West African College of Physicians and Surgeons.
• Overseeing 32 Statutory and 27 Revolving Funds Committees.

Mr. Oladele’s academic foundation includes a Senior School Certificate (WAEC, 1990) from Government Secondary School, Abaji-Abuja; a Bachelor of Science in Psychology (2001) from Obafemi Awolowo University; a Master of Public Administration (2012) from Ekiti State University; and a Professional Certificate in Leadership and Management in Health (2020) from the University of Washington, UK.

Previous Leadership Roles

His distinguished work history includes serving as Deputy Director and Head of the Community Liaison Unit (2022-2024), where he coordinated UCH's Comprehensive Health Centres across Oyo, Osun, and Ogun States. Prior to that, as Deputy Director in the Total Quality Management Department (2009-2022), he championed service improvement as the SERVICOM Nodal Officer. He has also acted as the Director of Administration in October 2022.
